    Dr. Carole Casten is the Kinesiology Teaching Program Coordinator and Professor in the Division of Kinesiology at California State University Dominguez Hills.  She is also a highly respected clinician, author, and speaker at professional conferences. In, 2000, Dr. Casten was elected to be the first female President of the Western Society for Kinesiology and Wellness. She is a national presenter for several organizations and has authored 5 textbooks on Pedagogy and made over 200 presentations at local, regional, national, and international conferences.

     In 2014, Dr. Casten was recognized as a CSUDH Distinguished Professor by being selected for the Excellence in Service award at CSUDH. Dr. Casten came to CSUDH in 1979 after teaching Elementary Physical Education, Secondary Physical Education, Health Education and Driver Education in West Lafayette School District, Indiana as well as two years at Redondo Union High School and El Camino College.

     Dr. Casten likes the culture of CSUDH. Through the years she has contributed to the culture having served on and chaired numerous committees, serving as Vice Chair of the Academic Senate and the Department of Kinesiology and Recreation Department Chairperson. Additionally, she has served as the director of Physical Education and Athletics for the California Academy of Mathematics. She developed the physical education curriculum and earned an award for tat from Arnold Schwarzenegger, then chair of the Governor’s Council of Physical Fitness and Sport.
