Save the Date: Thursday, April 30th, 2009
Loker Student Union, California State University, Dominguez Hills

Together with more than twenty-five unions and social justice groups, high schools and local colleges, we are planning a career and educational event to commemorate May Day. From noon to nine p.m. Thursday April 30th, we will have booths from each organization, workshops on key issues, as well as cultural programming and refreshments.

The event is jointly coordinated by the Labor Studies Dept. and the Labor Studies club.

J. David Sackman is a lawyer who has been working for the rights of workers and immigrants for several decades, with the UFW, CRLA, and now with the firm of Reich, Adell &  Cvitan. He has taught Labor Law in the Labor  Studies program of Cal. State Dominguez Hills. This article contains excerpts from the book he is working on: The History of California Labor Laws: 1910-2010, a sequel to the book by Lucile Eaves cited in the Article.
