S. Jolene Hui, MSW, LCSW is the Director of Membership for NASW-CA where she has been on staff since 2014. She is also adjunct field faculty at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a therapist in private practice specializing in maternal mental health and the LGBTQ+ population. She is a Commissioner for the City of Long Beach where she currently serves as the Vice Chair on the Homeless Services Advisory Committee. She was a CalSWEC Mental Health Stipend Award recipient and previously a Psychiatric Social Worker for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health in both an outpatient clinic and for Men’s Jail Mental Health Services where she worked with the incarcerated LGBT population.
She has been teaching at California State University, Dominguez Hills since 2015 where she has taught a variety of lecture courses and field seminars. She enjoys working with students and new professionals on professional development, the licensing process, and career goals.
She is also a member of the CSUN MSW Advisory Board, a Doulas of North America (DONA) trained birth doula, a proud Bruin who graduated from UCLA with her MSW in 2011, a recreational runner, and a mama to two beautiful children and a rescue Poodle.
