Children’s Social Worker II, Department of Children and Family Services

Yeny Velasco obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Dominguez Hills, graduated in 2019. She was a recipient of the CALSWEC stipend. She was also the Treasurer of Graduate Association of Social Work (GASW). During her time at Dominguez Hills, Yeny had a lot of support from her professors, staff, and colleagues that made her experience memorable. She was fortunate to obtain employment at the Department of Children and Family Services upon graduating and has been working in the Continuing Services unit. Yeny has a passion for working with underserved communities and people of color and had the opportunity to assist her community with volunteering and internships.
