BIO

Basic to Dr. Prado’s scholarship is analysis of the relations of power within various educational contexts.  His twenty-five years of secondary and post-secondary teaching, for example, is built on a tradition of critical pedagogy and multicultural education where he and his students construct understandings about the character of schooling in both national and international settings. This approach is basic to his nationally-based and internationally-based inter-university work and in the collaborative educational project that he has facilitated at Casa de las Américas in la Habana, Cuba, Latitudes de latinidad: A Summer Academic Seminar. His recent manuscripts extend thinking about the use of visual culture and rhetoric in  such contexts and are basic to the design of two larger and separate monograph projects.
