Registration Process: Step-by-Step

Prior to registering in your first course... 

1. Review what you are qualified to teach at a community college by matching your education to the state minimum qualifications (MQs) using the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges Handbook ►

2. Submit our  Prequalification Form ►
   
   To verify that you meet the minimum qualifications (MQs) for teaching at a community college, please be prepared to include the following:

   • Unofficial transcripts (pdf) that qualify you to teach at a community college (CC)
   • The discipline(s) you believe you qualify to teach at a CC
   • Name and location of CC(s) in your area that offer courses in your discipline(s)
   • Optional: If you feel that a resume would also be helpful, you may provide that as well

3. Receive response from a CSUDH CCTC Faculty Representative
   
   The form is reviewed internally to ensure that you meet the criteria for teaching in a CC. You will be contacted via email within 3-5 business days with one of the following:

   • An invitation to register and instructions
   • A request to provide more information
   • A notification that your submission does not align with the MQs*

   *Note: Applicants that do not meet the minimum qualifications may still take GED 548 and GED 549 as independent courses but will not be eligible to attend the Internship course (GED 594) and receive the Certificate. Please contact the Internship Coordinator for a waiver/permission form (form currently being updated).

   SUBMIT EARLY... To ensure that your form is reviewed in time to attend your first class, please submit your Prequalification Form at least ten (10) business days prior to the class start date.

4. Upon approval: Register for courses by calling 310-243-3741 (Option 1) ►
   
   The deadline to enroll for courses for most certificate programs is FOUR (4) BUSINESS DAYS or earlier before the class begins; please check the Course Schedule for the program to ensure that you can enroll on time.
